DIY: Lace Accent Shorts (Not Super Short)

I'm a big fan of these shorts with lace detail, that I've been seeing all over Pinterest. I've noticed that they are mostly super short, so I decided to make a longer version. Here's how it went.

First, I laid a vintage table cloth over my shorts (pants that I cut), and cut out the shape I needed to cover half the shorts....

...and for the back pocket. Then I pinned them both and sewed them down using the zig zag stitch on my machine, and also needle and thread.

I serged around the bottom edge of the shorts, try them on and roll the hem twice.

I safety pinned the hem, took them off, and sewed the sides down.

And that's it! I really like how they turned out. The lace kind of tends to rip around the edges, but I like the grunge-y, falling apart look. Thanks for reading, and have a great day!

OOTD: Summer Pastels

Sweater: Maurice's clearance, $6
Dress: Maurice's via thrift store, $2
Shoes: Charlotte Russe clearance, $13
Earrings: Cute as a Cuttlefish Etsy

I just got these new boots from Charlotte Russe, and I think they're great! Very nice quality. I'm wearing a spaghetti strap dress, with a light sweater over it. I really like doing this, as an alternative to wearing a cardigan over top. I scrunched the sweater up and wrapped the dress ties around my waist to define it. Also this is the first time I've done this hair style. I would usually do two dutch braids and pin them behind my head, but I decided to try the actual milkmaid style up-do. What do you think?

OOTD: Summer Ruffles

Dress: DIYed (check my Etsy for similar designs)
Sandals: Target clearance, $13
Bracelets: DIYed

I actually did and outfit of the day post, 2 years ago called Daisy Girl. It's kind of cool to see how much I've changed in that amount of time. I was still a brunette back then. I hope you've enjoyed!
