DIY: BB Peter Pan Collar Necklace

Recently  my little brother bought himself a BB gun and BBs. He then proceed to  break it, but he still had a bunch of BBs left, so he gave them to me to craft with. For a while, I couldn't figure out what to do with them. And then I got the idea to use Mod Podge to stick them to felt, and it worked! I know that there are a ton of Peter Pan collar necklace tutorials on the internet, but I thought it would be a good project to show the BB tecnique with. So to do it you obviously need BBs, and Mod Podge.

Next you need to cut some felt into your collar shape. My sister and I did two different ones together. Her's was one piece of felt (as seen above). And mine was cut in half, then sewn together with a button later (as seen at the bottom of the page). I would highly recommend the later. It's much easier to get the necklace to form around your neck  when there is some give in the middle.

Okay, time to get started. The first thing your going to want to do is, place some ribbon down on the ends, to tie the collar around your neck with. Stick it down and coat it with a thick layer of Mod Podge.

Next start laying down your BBs.

Then coat them in LOTS of Mod Podge.

Here's a big section done.

Then let it dry.

I used glitter Mod Podge for this because it adds sparkle in between the BBs, and doesn't let the felt show through.

Here is the one that was cut in half and sewn together with a button. This is the was I recommend you do it.

Even when the Mod Podge is all dry, it's still a bit pliable. You can mould it around your neck a little bit, but you need to make sure that you store it somewhere flat. Keep in mind all the BBs are made of metal so it's pretty heave, but not unwearable.

I hope this tutorial was helpful to you! Have a great day!
