DIY: Friendship Bracelet Headband

What you need for this tutorial. #1 Scissors #2 Friendship thread (I got this box of 36 skeins for about $4 at walmart) #3 Elastic cord (I'm lucky enough to have a big roll of it, but you can get it pretty cheap at walmart too)

Cut 50in lengths of string. I used 4 skeins of thread, witch makes 24 lengths of string. You also need to cut 1 30in length of elastic cord.

Tie the thread and the elastic in a knot.

I find it easier to braid when the knotted end is closed into a door or cabinet.

Next your going to divide the strings in 4 section incorporating the elastic. Then 4 way braid.
If you don't know how to 4 way braid hopefully this picture will help. It's kind of like weaving and braiding put together.
After braiding 5in or so, hold the thread strands with one hand and pull the elastic with the other.

The threads should start to scrunch like this. Continue to braid and scrunch until you reach the end.

When your a few inches from the end, tie another knot and trim the extra length.

Next tie the thread at the ends together in a messy knot. And your done! You can also wrap it around your wrist and wear this headband as a bracelet. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! For more of my creation visit my Etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/CuteCuttlefish. Have a great day!
