OOTD:Vintage Rose Cat

Band T-shirt: secondhand
Skirt: thrifted, $2
Choker: DIYed
Sandals: Target, $14

I've been really liking the look of a casual tee with a fancier skirt. I think it gives a really cool but classy look. This is one of my favorite tees, and I've had this skirt for a long time (I shorted it last year). I love animals on t-shirts, and I really like mixing a graphic tee with a print. I hope you've enjoyed, and have a great day!

DIY: T-shirt Peplum Top

I found this cool band t-shirt at a thrift store, but it's an extra large. Hm. What to do. How about a peplum top!

Use another t-shirt (that fits you well) as a guide for the top. Then cut the bottom in two equal strips, cut them open, sew them together, gather, and attach them to the bottom.

Here is the finished project!

I hope you've enjoyed! Have a great day!

DIY: Chemical Free Deodorant

As you may know, I have been using chemical free beauty and hygiene products for a few years now. I have very sensitive skin, and I find it best to cut down on harmful chemicals as much as possible. So today I thought I'd share my deodorant recipe. It uses natural ingredients you probably have in your kitchen, and take like 5 minutes to make. So here it is!

1 Tsp Arrow Root Powder
1 Tsp Baking Soda
1/2 Tsp Coconut Oil (soft)
20 Drops Essential Oil

Mix the ingredients...

...and spoon into a jar/container.

That's it! Super easy, right? You can double, triple, or quadruple the ingredients, if you want to make a larger amount. I am just cautious of bacteria growing in it, so I make a little batch every month or so.
The way you use this is to just take a small amount on your hand and apply to your under arm area. I should mention this deodorant is fine for everyday use, and it will keep you pretty fresh. However if you are an intense sweat-er, and you use clinical strength antiperspirant, I don't think this will be strong enough to replace it. This works for me, and I hope it was helpful to you. Have a great day!

OOTD: City Blues

Vintage shirt: Secondhand
T-shirt: Secondhand
Sandals: Target clearance, $14

This outfit is inspired by a picture of Sandra Bullock, in an incredible Burberry outfit. I'm going to do another post on the T-shirt/pencil skirt trend, that I've been liking so much. I really like the causally tee meets ladylike skirt vibe. Thanks for reading! Have a great day!

Beauty: Hair Chop (I Cut Off My Sister's Hair)

My younger sister, Ellie, has been wanting a pixie cut for a while now, and we finally got around to making the chop. I should mention that I'm NOT a hair professional, and I've had no training. I've been cutting hair for my family, and myself, for about 6-7 years. Everything I know about hair comes from the internet and practice.

So many celebrities like Shailene Woodley, Jennifer Lawrence, and Jennifer Hudson are cutting all their hair off and rocking really cute pixie cuts. I tried to model my sisters cut after the very-short-in-the-back-longer-in-the-front, wispy look, that seems to be so popular. I am very happy with how it turned out and she really likes it. Also we got 10" of hair from the back and sides of her head, which we sent into Locks Of Love.

Here are some pics of her hair before. She had shoulder-length wavy hair with long layers.

I began by sectioning off the top and gathering the rest in little ponytails (to get the most hair possible).

Then I just chopped them off.

I evened out the back and sides leaving it longer in the front. Then I got to work on the top. This took about an hour an a half. I really took my time making sure everything was blended, and there were no blunt pieces.

Here's the final result!

I hope you've enjoyed this post. Have a great day!
